Andis Company Privacy Policy

Andis Company ("Andis," "we," "us," or "our") recognizes the importance of keeping your personal information private. The purpose of this Privacy Policy ("Policy") is to describe how Andis collects, uses, shares, and protects your Personal Information, including when you use our websites (www.andis.com) and related mobile applications (collectively , the "Site") or otherwise interact with us.

WE MAY MODIFY THIS POLICY AT ANY TIME. ALL CHANGES WILL BE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UPON POSTING TO THE SITE. MATERIAL CHANGES WILL BE CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED ON THE SITE, THE TOP OF THIS POLICY, OR OTHERWISE COMMUNICATED TO YOU.

1. What is Personal Information?

For purposes of this Policy, "Personal Information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. Personal Information excludes publicly available information from government records or deidentified or aggregated consumer information.

Sensory Data

Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information such as CCTV recordings at our warehouses or call center recordings for customer service.

We retain CCTV recordings for approximately 30-60 days, or longer if required for business or legal reasons.

Employment Information

Professional or employment-related information that you provide when you apply for a position with us.

We retain this information for so long as needed for business, legal and compliance purposes.

Education Information

Information related to your educational background in connection with job applications and employment.

We retain this information for so long as needed for business, legal and compliance purposes.

3. Sources of Personal Information that We Collect

We collect Personal Information from or about you in three ways:

a. User-Provided Information

We may collect Personal Information when you:

  • Place an order from our Site;
  • Return or exchange a product;
  • Ask questions about our products or services;
  • When you use the Live Chat features of the Site, we will save a transcript of the communication;
  • Create an account on our Site;
  • Register your Andis products;
  • Sign up for email updates, discounts, or promotions;
  • "Contact Us" through our Site;
  • Apply for a job with Andis;
  • Enter a contest or sweepstakes;
  • Are referred to us through a marketing promotion; or
  • Participate in a marketing survey, promotion or event.

If you contact us through electronic communication, including by email at our info@andisco.com address, we typically retain the email in our file servers and collect any contact information you provide so that we can reply to you. Your email also contains metafiles that may contain IP addresses, domain names, and other standard file information and this information may be retained electronically on our servers or in routine back-up files.

b. Information We Collect Automatically

When you Browse our Site. If you browse our Site, regardless of whether you create a user account, purchase any products or otherwise interact with the Site, Andis logs your IP address (the internet address of your computer) to tell us which parts of the Site you visit and how long you spend on those pages. Andis will also track the state and/or country from which you are accessing the internet, the date and time you visited the Site and the type of computer or another electronic device, operating system, and Web browser you are using. Your browser supplies us with this information.

We use cookies and other tracking technologies (collectively "Cookies") when you use our Site for analytics and advertising purposes. To learn more about how we use Cookies and your options to limit the data collected from our Site, see the Section titled "Access to and Control Over Your Personal Information" below.

As further described in Section 6 (Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies; Access to and Control Over Your Personal Information), we and our third party partners use Cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to receive and store certain information when you interact with the Site. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of the Site. c. Information We Collect From Third-Party Sources

We collect Personal Information from various third-party sources, as described in the table below. We may combine that information with other Personal Information or data we collect.

5. How We Disclose or Share Your Personal Information

We disclose or share your Personal Information with the categories of service providers and other third parties described below.

Affiliates and Brands

We share Personal Information with the various product brands we offer ("Brands") to help operate our business, to provide customer service, and to enhance our marketing and advertising practices.

Service Providers

We disclose Personal Information to our service providers to perform functions on our behalf. This may include processing your Personal Information in connection with the sale and delivery of products; sending you communications; assisting with and improving our customer service; maintaining our live chat features and chat or call transcripts; providing our products and services to you; operating our Site, including disclosing Personal Information to our web hosting and cloud storage providers; processing payments; performing background checks and other processes related to making employment decisions.

Analytics Providers

We share Personal Information with analytics partners which help us perform analysis on how users experience our Site. We may share or disclose this information with technology providers, user experience providers, and data enrichment providers to run analytics services on the Site.

Targeted Advertising Companies and Social Media Companies

We share Personal Information with our targeted advertising and marketing partners to help us serve you advertisements that may be of interest to you. We may send your information to social media companies, retargeting providers, digital advertising partners, and other marketing providers to advertise products to you.

Professional Advisors

We may disclose Personal Information with our accountants, attorneys, business advisors, and financial advisors, solely in their capacities as advisors to us.

Parties to Business Transactions

If we participate in a business transaction, including a due diligence process, merger, asset sale, financing, corporate divestiture, reorganization, or acquisition of all or some portion of our business to another company or if we undergo liquidation or bankruptcy proceedings, we will share your Personal Information in connection with such transaction or proceeding before and after the transaction closes or the proceedings are completed. We may transfer that Personal Information to be used by the new owner or successor at the end of the process.

Government Officials and Law Enforcement

We may disclose information about you if we reasonably believe that disclosing the information is needed to comply with any valid legal process, governmental request, subpoena or applicable law, rule, or regulation; to investigate, remedy, or enforce potential violations of our Terms of Use, contracts or policies; to protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our employees, our customers our service providers and our Site users, or others; or to detect and resolve any fraud or security concerns.

With Your Consent

We may share your Personal Information in other ways to other third parties with your consent or at your direction.

Aggregated and De-Identified Data

We may also share with third parties aggregated or de-identified data, which does not reveal the identity of individuals and is not considered Personal Information. To the extent that we maintain and use deidentified data, Andis will not attempt to reidentify such data.

6. Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies; Access to and Control Over Your Personal Information

How We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files that are sent to your browser from a website’s computers and stored on your computer or device. We and certain third parties who provide analytics services or targeted advertising use cookies and other technologies, such as web beacons, web storage, and unique advertising identifiers, to collect information about your activity, browser, and device. Specifically, we use cookies and other tracking technologies to:

  • Remember your preferences when you visit our Site and allow you to enter your username less frequently;
  • Uniquely identify each user session when you access the Site;
  • Compile aggregated statistics to analyze how the Site is used;
  • Present you with targeted advertising, including our content presented on other websites and across devices; and
  • Measuring the effectiveness of our Site, content, communications, and advertising, including by placing web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs) that let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients.

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can choose to disable cookies on your browser, but doing so may prevent you from using the full features of the Site. Social Media. Andis is active on social media pages, such as Facebook (Meta), LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter (now X). Andis integrates social media widgets or features on the Site. These social media companies may recognize you and collect information about your visit to the Site, and they may set a cookie or employ other tracking technologies. Your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policies of those companies. Andis may display targeted advertising to you through such social media platforms. Such social media companies have interest-based advertising programs that allow Andis to direct advertisements to users who have shown interest in our products when you visit a social media platform. These advertisements are governed by the privacy policies of those social media companies that provide them and not by this Policy.

Opt-Out of Cookies. You can learn how to opt out of some of those cookies by accessing the Network Advertising Initiative’s website at http://optout.networkadvertising.org or the Digital Advertising Alliance’s website at http://optout.aboutads.info. For more information on mobile-specific opt-out choices, please visit http://www.networkadvertising.org/mobile-choices from your mobile device. Changing your settings with individual browsers or ad networks will not necessarily carry over to other browsers or ad networks. As a result, depending on the opt-outs you request, you may still see our ads.

Analytics and Advertising

We use third-party services on our Site that help us deliver personalized advertisements to you across your devices, including those specified below.

Google Analytics and Its Advertising Features

Google Analytics is a third-party service that transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand Site traffic and web page usage. We have enabled and implemented the following Google Analytics Advertising Features: DoubleClick, GA Audiences, and Google Beacons. We also use Google Maps. To prevent this data from being used by Google Analytics, follow the instructions to download and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for each web browser you use. Using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On will not prevent us from using other analytics tools and will not prevent data from being sent to the Sites themselves or to Google. Opting out will not affect your use of the Sites. Facebook/Meta

We use Facebook Connect and Custom Audience to deliver targeted advertisements to website visitors on Facebook based on email addresses that we have collected. For more information about Facebook's privacy practices, please refer to their privacy policy . To opt out, please visit facebook opt out

Opt Out of Marketing Emails

If you sign up to receive electronic communications, you consent to our sending such electronic communications to you using the email address you provide. If you no longer want to receive electronic marketing communications from us, please use the "unsubscribe" button found on the emails you received. Within ten (10) days of receipt of your unsubscribe request, we will remove you from our distribution list unless you request to be added again in the future.

Opt Out of Marketing Text Messages

If you would like to opt out of text alerts, you may text "STOP" in the text message thread at any time to no longer receive marketing messages. Please note that you still may receive text messages regarding your order status or other transactional data that is not related to marketing if you have previously opted in.

7. Additional Information About Our Privacy Practices

Third-Party Websites

Please be aware that our Site and email communications may contain links to other websites on the Internet that are owned and operated by third parties. The inclusion of any link does not imply our endorsement of any other company, its sites, products, or services. This Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of those websites and we are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of websites to which our Site links. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of other websites to understand their privacy practices.

Security Measures


We maintain reasonable technical, administrative and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information we collect against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use.

International Transfers of Personal Information


Andis is based in the United States and our Site is designed for users in the United States. Any information collected through the Site or electronic communications as described in this Policy may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Andis or its affiliates or service providers maintain facilities. If you are located outside of the United States, please note that we may transfer information, including personal information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction, and you consent to the transfer of information to the United States.

Children

We do not knowingly collect, share, or distribute the Personal Information of children under the age of sixteen. If a parent or legal guardian learns that their child under the age of sixteen provided us with Personal Information without such consent, please contact us, and we will make commercially reasonable attempts to delete such Personal Information.

8. Your State Privacy Rights

THESE TERMS ARE ONLY APPLICABLE TO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act and its implementing regulations (together, the “CCPA”) and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (“TDPSA”), Texas and California residents have additional rights regarding their Personal Information. We have provided a summary of those rights below.

Please note that these rights are subject to certain exceptions under the CCPA and TDPSA. In the event of a conflict between this Section and the remainder of this Policy, this Section shall take precedence only for California and Texas residents.

Certain capitalized terms not defined in the Policy have the meanings set forth in the CCPA or TDPSA, as applicable.

A.         EXPLANATION OF YOUR STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS

Subject to certain limitations, such as (a) exceptions permitted by the CCPA, TDPSA, or other applicable laws and (b) verification of your identity, California and Texas residents may exercise the following rights with regard to their Personal Information:

Rights to Know or Access Your Personal Information

You have the right to confirm whether we are processing your Personal Information and to access such Personal Information.

Right to Request Deletion

You have a right to request that we delete the Personal Information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

Right to Correct

You have a right to request that we correct your Personal Information if it is inaccurate or outdated. If you request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct it. If necessary, we may ask that you provide documentation showing that the information we retained is inaccurate.

Right to Data Portability

You may request a copy of the Personal Information you previously provided to us in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.

Right to Non-Discrimination

You have a right to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of your rights under your respective state privacy law. 

B.         CALIFORNIA-SPECIFIC RIGHTS AND DISCLOSURES

Right to Access Categories of Personal Information

California residents have a right to access any of the following types of information which occurred in the prior 12-month period:

  • The specific pieces of Personal Information that we have collected;
  • The categories of Personal Information we collected;
  • The categories of sources from which the Personal Information was collected;
  • The categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed your Personal Information;
  • The categories of Personal Information that we Sold or Shared, or which we disclosed for a Business Purpose and the categories of third parties to whom it was disclosed for a Business Purpose; and
  • The Business or Commercial Purpose for collecting, Sharing, or Selling your Personal Information.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing

You may direct us not to Sell or Share your Personal Information at any time (this is your right to “opt-out”). For more information, please see the section titled, “Your California Right to Opt Out of the Sale or Sharing of Personal Information,” below.

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of Personal Information: Identifiers, Commercial Records, Demographic Records, Internet or other similar network activity, Sensory Information, Employment Information, Education Information. For more information, please see the main portion of our Policy.

Categories of Personal Information “Sold” or “Shared” in the Preceding 12 months:

Andis does provide a limited amount of Personal Information to certain third-party business partners and our Brands to collect analytical data or to serve targeted advertising to you. Under California law, these activities may be considered "selling" or "sharing" your Personal Information. In the preceding twelve (12) months, Andis has “sold” or “shared” as defined under the CCPA, the following categories of personal information: Identifiers and Internet or other similar network activity. 

Categories of Personal Information Disclosed in the Preceding 12 months:

Andis has not disclosed Personal Information to “third parties” as defined under the CCPA in the preceding 12 months. We have disclosed Personal Information to our Service Providers and Professional Advisors as described in Section 5 (How We Disclose or Share Your Personal Information). 

Sensitive Personal Information:

We do not use or disclose any sensitive Personal Information for any reason other than for employment purposes.

C.         TEXAS-SPECIFIC RIGHTS AND DISCLOSURES

Right to Opt Out of Certain Processing of Your Personal Information

Texas residents may opt out of the processing of their Personal Information for purposes of: i) targeted advertising, ii) the sale of their Personal Information, and iii) automated profiling of Personal Information, if that profiling could lead to certain legal outcomes, (i.e., the provision or denial of employment opportunities). 

You may use an Authorized Agent to opt out of the sale of your Personal Information and the processing of your Personal Information for the purposes of targeted advertising.

D.        YOUR CALIFORNIA RIGHT TO OPT OUT OF THE SALE OR SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

As a California resident, you may direct us not to Sell or Share your Personal Information at any time (this is your right to “opt-out”) as those terms are defined under the CCPA. You may exercise your right to opt-out by:

You must provide sufficient information to allow us to fulfill this request. After submitting a request, we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity. We will only use this information to verify your identity and respond to your request. 

You may designate an authorized agent to make an opt-out request on your behalf by providing the authorized agent written permission to do so. We may deny a request from an authorized agent if we do not have proof that you have authorized them to act on your behalf. 

Global Privacy Control 

We offer a frictionless experience by responding to Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals sent by your browser or mobile device to our Site. You can enable a GPC signal on your browser or otherwise use the browser or device that you are using to view this site to enable, disable or delete first and third-party cookies. To download and use a browser which recognizes a GPC browser signal, you can click on this link: https://globalprivacycontrol.org/orgs. You will need to do this on each supported browser or browser extension you use.

E.         HOW TO EXERCISE YOUR STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS

Who May Exercise Your Rights

You may only make a request to exercise your rights on behalf of yourself. A parent or legal guardian may make a request on behalf of their child.

Under the CCPA, California residents may authorize another person to submit requests to exercise their rights on their behalf (an “Authorized Agent”). 

Under the TDPSA, Texas residents may use an Authorized Agent to opt out of the sale of their Personal Information and the processing of their Personal Information for the purposes of targeted advertising. 

You may designate an Authorized Agent to make a request on your behalf to exercise your rights by doing the following: (1) provide the Authorized Agent written permission to do so; and (2) verify your own identity (per the process stated below), as well as the identity of the Authorized Agent. We may deny a request from an Authorized Agent if we do not have proof that you authorize them to act on your behalf. 

Verifying a Consumer Request

In order to verify your request, you must provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected Personal Information. You must describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it. To verify your identity, we may ask you to provide additional information. Any information you provide will only be used to verify your request. When seeking additional information from you, we may contact you through your account or the contact phone number or email address you provided in your request. If we cannot verify your identity, we may deny your request.

When We Will Respond

We will try to respond to your request within 45 days. If we require additional time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period. Any disclosures we provide to California residents will only cover the 12-month period preceding our receipt of your request.

F.         APPEALS PROCESS FOR TEXAS RESIDENTS

If you are a Texas resident, you have the right to appeal a denied request to exercise your privacy rights. You must submit your request within 60 days of your receipt of our denial. You may submit your request to us by:

When We Will Respond

We will respond to your appeal within 60 days of receiving your request. When we respond we will include any action taken or not taken, including an explanation of the reason or reasons for the decision.

We calculate the value of the offer and financial incentive by using the expense related to the offer. 

You may withdraw from this financial incentive at any time by completing our Privacy Request. Please note that if you have provided your Personal Information at other times or using other means, then we may still provide you with marketing and advertising unless you request to delete all of your Personal Information with us.
